Our research explores life in terrestrial and extraterrestrial realms. By studying diverse biological processes – e.g., metabolism of metals or other substrates in extreme environments – we can understand both the limits and possibilities of biology. This knowledge can be expanded to create new chemical syntheses, insights for pharmacology, and other novel processes.
